Anyware Retail, with its support for products with colors and sizes, provides functionality for order entry in matrix format. This document describes the functionality together with the setup requirements and scenarios on the item card.
Products can consist of variants in different shapes. For example there can be products in different colors and/or sizes. But also products with one color and a combination of sizes. All these scenarios might require different matrix setup in order for the purchase order to be manually entered in the most optimal way.
For matrix setup, a number of fields needs to be completed in the "Anyware Retail Setup" page.

By, for example, setting the "Sales Matrix Mode" to "Disabled" will turn off matrix functionality on sales documents which may be a common scenario for e-commerce business.

| Autofill Sizes | Specifies if sizes should be automatically enabled when choosing a "Size Group Code" on the products. |
| Color Part Max Length | Indicating the length of the first part of the variant code. The total length of the variant code may not exceed 10 characters. |
| Size Part Max Length | Indicating the length of the second part of the variant code. The total length of the variant code may not exceed 10 characters. |
| Variant Separator | Indicating the single character separating the color part and the size part in the variant code. Is included in the maximum 10 characters. |
Anyware Retail supports the following matrix setups:
| Type | Comment |
| Size matrix | A single column matrix for entering quantities per size only. If used, the color can be set on product level in order to stream line the color analysis. |
| Color/Size matrix | The most common scenario. Each variant is a combination of a color and a size. |
| Size/Size matrix | Sometimes used in jeans. The setup consists of 2 different size ranges. If used, the color can be set on product level in order to stream line the color analysis. |
| Color matrix | A single column matrix for entering quantities per color only. |
The setup is done on each product on the "Variants" tab. Follow the steps below to create variants for a specific product:
All variants, not existing before, will now be created. All created variants are visible in the "Variants" page accessible from "Home" => "Variants". To test the matrix functionality directly from the product card, click "Home" => "Quick Order". This will launch the matrix for the current product. See below.
The matrix is a tool to stream line order entry for matrix style products. But also to make order entry more efficient, by enabling availability visibility. The matrix can be used on the following documents:

To return to the matrix page after creating the order lines, click the line assist button and select "Open Matrix".
Accessible from the product card, quick order allows for creating a sales document or a purchase document for a specific product quick and easy. A common scenario could be for customer service to check availability and directly create a sales order for a customer.
